Elephants are known for their complex social organization and for the fact that they have a clear sense of love, compassion, and understanding. Elephants are matriarchal, meaning that their herd is led by the female elephant. Probably that explains their family orientation. A prime example of this case can be seen in this story where the herd welcomes an orphaned baby elephant to their family.
Dok Gaew is a one year and 9-month-old baby elephant that was left alone in the wild. He was rescued by the awesome people at Elephant Nature Park. After some time of rehabilitation and care, he was allowed to join his new herd.
Watch what happens when this little guy is introduced to the elders of the big elephant family. This is probably the cutest video you will see today.
